Experimental Art and Theater Storytelling Workshop: Storytelling for Empowerment

This workshop offers participants a platform to create personal stories through the medium of experimental creative media art. While exploring abstraction, movement, experimentation, surrealism, subconscious, dreams, emotions and many other aspects of visual and self, participants will have the opportunity to start and support inner dialogues, self-explorations, and use some of the above mentioned tools in the process of healing.

Workshop is part of a research paper which will be focusing on exploration of the use of experimental creative media in increasing the well – being of individuals, and communities. Research paper will be published in the book “Challenges in Media and Storytelling”.

Confidentiality and anonymity of all participants will be respected. Workshop is intended for participants aged 18 – 30. Basic refreshment and art supplies will be provided during the workshop.

If you have on disposal personal photos, family archives, letters, and any other objects that are of significant memory for you and that you would like to work with, please bring it with you. If you don’t have anything like that, that is fine.

Please bring a notebook and pen, and something warm that you might need during meditation practice.

Azadeh Kangarani – a theatre director, actor, and playwright a graduate of DAMU., who has been writing and performing autobiographical plays and taking them to festivals in Prague and New York
