PR – Pride Parade

The Prague Pride Festival will culminate this Saturday, August 12, with a rainbow parade. The Pride Parade will pass through the historic city center and remind people that LGBT+ people in the Czech Republic still do not have equal rights. All are welcome to march in the parade regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. At the end of the parade, there will be a rich musical program waiting for you on 6 stages in Pride Park on Letná.

We will meet at Wenceslas Square

The parade will begin to line up at 11:30 am at the bottom of Wenceslas Square (Můstek), where the first music stage with DJ Witek will be located. The anthem of this year’s festival, “Come Closer”, performed by singers Tonya Graves, Aiko, and TEZA, will be played from the stage before the start of the parade. The author is Blanche M.
You will be able to buy rainbow gear, get your make-up done, sign a petition for marriage equality, or make a banner for the parade. Another opportunity to adorn yourself with make-up made of rainbow glitter from MAC cosmetics will be at the adidas Store Prague in Černá růže Na Příkopě or from The Glitters directly at our stand on Můstek.

Parade route

The front of the parade will start moving at 12:30 and will follow the route Na Příkopě – Celetná – Staroměstské náměstí – Pařížská – Čechův most – stairs to Letná. The first parade participants are expected to arrive at Letná at approximately 14:00.
The route will be soundtracked by the Sky Stage, with DJs and drag queens placed on balconies and high platforms. In the most difficult part of the route, during the climb up the Letná stairs, a music stage under the Metronome will raise morale, and the program then continues until the evening hours.

Accessibility

For people with limited mobility or with strollers, a low-floor bus will be parked under the stairs on Nábřeží Edvarda Beneše towards the Public Swimming Pool. It will take people free of charge to Špejchar, from where they will move along the flat Letná plain to the Pride Park area.

A mobile toilet for wheelchair users will be available at Letná, which they will find next to the volunteer zone.

Program in the Pride Park

The afternoon entertainment at Letná will be centered around six music stages. The main Rainbow Stage will feature big international names, the Red Stage will showcase the Czech drag and music scene, the Yellow Stage will feature resident DJs from successful queer parties, the Green Stage will focus on Ukrainian techno, the Orange Stage will focus on Romani artists and the Blue Stage will belong to Czech DJs. As part of Pride Park, people will also be able to visit the JarmarQ of non-profit organizations.

The program in Pride Park may end at 10 pm, but the fun goes on. The official festival afterparty Magion will break out in the unique premises of the former convent Gabriel Loci in Smíchov.

The festival continues

On the last day of the festival – Sunday – you can spend your last moments together at the Pride Afterpicnic on Střelecký ostrov. You will meet friends, enjoy some food and relax. There will be sweet, there will be salty, there will be soft drinks, and for the brave alcoholic drinks. Enjoy the last day of Pride before we say goodbye for another year. At noon, you’ll get to play your own music on the interactive jukebox, but afterward, DJs and other artists will provide the music for the last day of Pride Week.

We are looking forward to seeing you!
