Dance Day: Visual Vernacular – COMING OUT

Tamara Zúdorová is a talented deaf performer specializing in Visual Vernacular, a unique art form specific to the deaf community. It’s based on using gestures, facial expressions, body movements, and spatial awareness to convey ideas, emotions, and stories. This type of performance is incredibly expressive and can communicate just about anything without a single spoken word or written text. You’ll find Visual Vernacular in all kinds of performances like theater, dance, and storytelling.

Tamara’s performance will focus on the journey of a queer person coming out and navigating a complex life path. For hearing audiences, this might be their first taste of deaf art, which is rich, emotional, and connects everyone, no matter their language.

Tamara Zúdorová – originally from Slovakia, is studying Pre-school and After-school Pedagogy. She’s been a competitive swimmer since she was a kid, loves hiking, and is a well-known actress in various films.
