Vojtech Klinec alias Vojtik

In his song Detvianský sen, Vojtik sings about what it is like to be Roma and gay in present-day Slovakia, where homophobia and nationalism pose a big problem. The strong and courageous lyrics have resonated with many people and attracted a lot of attention not only among Czechia’s neighbors. The song is also an unexpectedly masterful indie-pop hit that evokes the early works of Meky Zbirka and The Drums. Vojtik also appeared before the audience at the popular Pohoda festival.
