Queer & Neurodivergent Safe Space

Join us for a cozy event featuring a panel of queer neurodivergent folks, followed by a chilled and quiet hangout. We’re keeping the group small, no more than about 30 people, to create a calm and inclusive atmosphere. You can relax on the floor with pillows and blankets, and we’ll have fidget toys available if you like them.

Wednesday 7th

Our event kicks off with a captivating hour-long conversation featuring the fabulous Cecil (he/they) and James (they/he). James is known for organizing awesome events, whether it’s for Filip20, crafting, or DIY. This Wednesday night, our discussion will be more laid-back compared to Thursday’s larger, more structured event on the same topic.

Thursday 8th

The first part of the event (about an hour) will be an interview with queer neurodivergent speakers, including Lu/Luis (who you might know from the sbarvouven.cz LGBT+ counseling website) and Filip20 from Brno.

We’ll dive into our experiences in queer spaces, exploring how they sometimes clash with our neurodivergent needs and the ableism we encounter both within and outside these spaces. We’ll chat about self and professional diagnoses and the barriers to equal access to mental health care, especially for AFAB individuals. No loudspeakers or microphones, just pure, authentic conversations.

In the second part, we’ll shift gears to a relaxed session where everyone can share their experiences and connect with one another. It’s going to be a beautiful evening of solidarity and support.

So come join us Wednesday evening for a chill, safe space, and remember, Thursday will be a bit more programmatic. We can’t wait to see your lovely faces there!
