Performance: Bodies of Water / Threads of Becoming
The performance by the “o.ff collective” is a silent exploration of transformation and variability. Inspired by the regenerative nature of starfish, the weaving invites us to imagine new possibilities of connection and identity.
The first steps of the “o.ff collective” go back to HfBK Dresden in 2022, where the members met for the first time. Coming from different countries and backgrounds, they formed a collective within an interdisciplinary collaboration with non-hierarchical structures. The “o.ff collective” adheres to feminist teachings, embracing principles of equality, inclusivity, and the empowerment of all voices. This commitment is reflected in their collaborative process, ensuring every member has an equal voice, and in the themes they explore, which reflect a nuanced understanding of the human experience. The members of the o.ff collective remain dedicated to the language of performance, new media, installation, and costume design. Their work explores the relationship between humans and nature, and between technology and humanity.
