DNA: QUEER Art Exhibition
“DNA: Queer” is an interdisciplinary art exposition that delves into the profound intersection of queer identities within the framework of familial relationships and cultural heritage. Family, as more than a mere social structure, serves as the focal point for this exploration—a realm where individuals navigate acceptance, resilience, and transformation.
Through a curated selection of contemporary artworks, “DNA: Queer” examines the enduring impact of queer practices across generations, reshaping the narratives of family dynamics and cultural evolution.
The exposition invites viewers to reflect on the multifaceted nature of family as a zone of discovery and growth. It explores how queer experiences have challenged and reshaped traditional understandings of family, expanding the concept beyond biological ties to encompass chosen families and networks of support.
Visitors to “DNA: Queer” are invited to engage with these profound narratives, confronting preconceptions and embracing the complexity of queer experiences within familial and cultural frameworks. The artworks serve as catalysts for dialogue, encouraging reflection on how family shapes our identities and how queer practices have enriched our collective cultural heritage.
Artist: Laguna is an artistic collaboration between Pavel Naydenov and Danny Nedkova. It emerged from the desire for a sanctuary, a safe space where intimacy is a driving force for the imagination. Laguna is a place where the mind is free to engage with fiction, a place that confronts the norms with a transformative force grounded in the essence of change and the exploration of new and old emotional territories.
