42 Prague: Supporting Lifelong Learning and Diversity with Prague Pride

Hello everyone! We are 42 Prague and we are excited to join Prague Pride for the second time. Our mission is not only to educate the next generation of IT talent, but also to promote our key values – diversity, inclusion and lifelong learning. For us, education is also a path to equality and innovation.

Never stopping learning is the way to success

At 42 Prague we offer free IT education, but it’s not just about coding and algorithms. We teach critical thinking, teamwork and problem solving – skills that are essential today, and will gain even more importance in the future. We are pledged to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) because we believe that everyone has the right to a quality education, regardless of gender or social background. Making the IT sector more equal is what we strive for.

Promoting diversity and inclusivity at 42 Prague

42 Prague is a member of the 42 Network, an association of schools present on five continents. This already gives us the opportunity to draw on the diversity that more than 50 other campuses from all corners of the world share with us. In addition, within the network, we are among the top 5 locations with the highest representation of female students, despite the very short age of our Prague campus. We are very proud of that! Diversity brings new perspectives, ideas and innovations. That’s why we aim to create an environment where everyone can feel welcome.

Our initiatives speak for themselves

  • Diversity Piscine: an intensive course for women where they can immerse themselves in the world of IT without fear or prejudice.
  • Diversity in IT Panel: Coding doesn’t know gender: a discussion on the role of women and LGBTQ+ people in the IT sector with leading female representatives of major companies operating in the Czech Republic.
  • Scholarships for Ukrainian applicants: supporting talent from crisis areas.
  • Creating and communicating content on inclusivity and diversity.
  • Discovery Program: planned program for female high school students.
  • Ladies Tea Time: a regular gathering for women and minorities to share their experiences and ideas while studying.
  • SheAI Hackathon: space and guided support during a hackathon aimed at educating women about artificial intelligence.
