Dozens of countries worldwide criminalize homosexuality or otherwise oppress LGBT+ individuals. In recent years, the number of cases of violence against LGBT+ people has been on the rise in Europe. Despite all progress, queer individuals still often have to hide themselves to feel safe in public spaces and beyond. Where, then, can queer individuals exist without any shame or fear – where can they simply “exist”? The students of FSV UK collectively explore the concept of safe space, what it looks like, where it begins and ends, or what hinders its creation. The exhibition of student photography with LGBTQ+ themes will take place at the Hollar Building throughout Pride Week. It will be inaugurated with an vernissage on August 7th.

Entrance fee – free
