Prosecution film screening

Acclaimed director Faraz Shariat’s latest German drama follows Seyo Kim, a young prosecutor and queer woman of Korean descent investigating a racist attack in present-day Germany. As the case unfolds, she uncovers troubling links between far-right violence, state institutions, and a system that overlooks right-wing extremism instead of protecting justice.
The film thoughtfully explores themes of identity, migration, queer experience, and structural discrimination, revealing how prejudice and exclusion can shape both everyday life and the institutions meant to serve society. At a time when Europe is once again witnessing growing calls to restrict the rights of minority groups, The Procesution offers a timely reflection on why defending an open society—where everyone has the right to safety, dignity, and equal treatment—matters more than ever.
The screening will be followed by a discussion (in Czech only). Film is in German with Czech and English subtitles.
