Édouard Louis, Dávid Paška: The End of Eddy

A stage adaptation inspired by the novels of Édouard Louis, exploring the changing relationship between a mother and her son after one life-changing decision: to break free from the cycle of violence and silence.
Eddy B. grows up in a poor working-class family in northern France, surrounded by violence, daily humiliation, and homophobia. As an adult, he decides to leave. He changes his name, writes about his childhood, and becomes a celebrated author. By telling the stories that were never spoken of at home, he establishes himself as one of the most influential voices in contemporary French literature.
But his success transforms more than his own life. By making his story public, he offers his mother the chance to leave as well and begin again. But at what cost, when their private lives have become known to the world?
The production is loosely based on three novels by Édouard Louis: The End of Eddy, A Woman’s Battles and Transformations, and Monique Escapes.
