Carly Zeng rarely plays the same set twice. Born in China and now based in Berlin, they have built a community around their Dissident party, centred on thoughtful musical exploration. Their long-standing passion for collecting vinyl shapes an approach that effortlessly connects genres—from tribal rhythms and progressive tracks with unusual structures to unexpected sonic twists within house music. Carly is always searching for something beyond the obvious.

They first discovered dance music through New York’s intimate parties, DIY spaces, and warehouse raves, carrying that community spirit into everything they do today. A familiar name on Berlin’s queer music scene, Carly regularly plays events such as Cocktail d’Amore and Body Language. Whether behind the decks, organising community events, or dancing on the floor, they are deeply committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive dance music culture.
