Queer Memory Blanket: Designing a Queer Memorial for Prague

The Society for Queer Memory invites you to relax on the Queer Memory Blanket, spread out on the lawn in Pride Village every afternoon from Tuesday to Friday.

This will be a safe space not only for resting and meeting new people, but also for conversations about queer history and collective reflection on what a hypothetical memorial to the queer past might look like.

You are invited to create your own proposal in the form of a written description, drawing, painting, or model — all materials will be provided. The ideas collected during the week will serve as inspiration for the research project of artist Martin Kámen, who is working on a real-world proposal for a memorial to queer history in Prague and exploring ways to bring it into existence.

Entrance fee – free

Accessibility – suitable also for children and teenagers, accessible with a dog, barrier-free

Vibe check – small event (approx. 30 people), quiet (no loud music, shouting, etc.), requires interacting with the audience or other attendees, seating options, outdoors
