Ceekayin2u
Ceekayin2u is a cultural producer and community facilitator and DJ who has been involved in Berlin’s nightlife since 2016. She co-founded the influential DJ initiative No Shade, a platform for femme, trans, and non-binary DJs that pioneered the way for many similar initiatives since.
Beyond No Shade, Carmel continues to champion community-based initiatives. In partnership with Mariana Berezovska of Borshch Magazine and Phase7, she brought DJing to disabled youth at the Special Olympics in 2022 and 2023. She also co-led SheSpace Tbilisi, a project celebrating the women behind Tbilisi’s nightlife, with a documentary by her released via Mixmag in April 2024. This year she also worked on setting up Casa Príncipe in Lisbon with Príncipe Discos – which now serves as a community space and HQ for the esteemed label. She is also working on finishing the documentary about the project supported by Save the Night.
In the Ballroom scene, she is known as Ceekay, an esteemed DJ recognized across the European circuit since 2018.
