The Human Library

The Human Library is an educational project by Amnesty International focused on tackling discrimination, racism, xenophobia, and extremism. But instead of reading books, you “read” people and their life stories.

How does it work? You choose a person whose story speaks to you. Then, in a small group of 2 to 5 people, you have a 20-minute conversation with them.

The Human Library creates space for voices that are too often left unheard – voices of people from minority groups living in Czechia. Come talk to LGBTQIA+ folks, people from various countries and religions, those living with disabilities or neurodivergence, members of the Roma community, or individuals who have experienced homelessness.

Amnesty has been organizing the Human Library for over 10 years. Thousands of people have taken part – and for many, it’s been a life-changing experience.
