Rainbow Educational Trails through Prague

Every Czech person is a tourist — or so the saying goes! If there’s anything deeply Czech, it’s hiking, day trips, the Czech Tourist Club, those classic blue, yellow, red, and green trail markers, educational nature paths, schnitzels on forest benches, the Labská Chalet, the Vltava spring… It’s a collective hobby we can totally be proud of.

But what’s missing in Czechia? Queer heritage trails! That’s why, just for the festival, Ladislav Jackson from the Society for Queer Memory created three unique rainbow-themed trails connecting Prague Pride festival venues with key sites from queer history in Prague.

By walking the trails during Prague Pride Festival, you can turn this history-meets-hiking experience into a full-on cultural adventure, immersed in live art at festival venues, and become part of writing queer history yourself. The trail descriptions will stay online even after the festival, so you can explore Prague’s hidden queer corners anytime you like.

How does it work?

Each trail stop is marked on the accompanying map. In the text, you’ll find a short story about that spot. So grab your backpack, bring water and snacks, put on comfy shoes and go discover Queer Prague!

Trail difficulty: accessible to everyone, regardless of fitness level!
