Love the Moomins? Join us for a drawing session led by the graphic design studio DRAWetc., focused entirely on sketching these beloved creatures. After the class, we’ll screen the film Tove—a captivating drama about the creative energy of an iconic talent and her turbulent search for identity, desire, and freedom.

Helsinki, 1945. The end of the war brings painter Tove Jansson a sense of artistic and social liberation. While focusing her artistic dreams on her painting, the charming stories about little creatures called “Moomins,” which she told to frightened children in bomb shelters, begin to take on a life of their own—bringing her international fame and financial independence.
Tove’s longing for freedom is tested when she meets theater director Vivica Bandler, who sparks an electrifying, all-consuming—but unrequited—love. As Tove begins to discover her artistic identity, she must also learn to find herself. Her unrequited love for Vivica is preventing her true liberty and only by learning to break away from her can she truly be free.
