We\u2019ll be screening Sickness, a&nbsp;film about the life and challenges faced by LGBT+ people in the Commonwealth of Independent States. This film is not just a&nbsp;story \u2014 it\u2019s a&nbsp;powerful testimony to the reality lived by thousands: from the struggle for acceptance to the pursuit of the freedom to be oneself.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"block\n  block--core-paragraph\n  block--align-none\n      \">\n  \n<p>After the screening, we\u2019ll hold a&nbsp;discussion where we\u2019ll share impressions, thoughts, and personal experiences. We&#8217;ll focus on how film can be a&nbsp;tool for visibility and change.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"block\n  block--core-paragraph\n  block--align-none\n      \">\n  \n<p>The screening and the discussion will be held in Russian only.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"block\n  block--core-paragraph\n  block--align-none\n      \">\n  \n<p><strong>About the film Sickness<\/strong><br>At the age of 16, Ana\u2019s parents sent her to a&nbsp;psychiatric hospital, where she was forcibly \u201ctreated\u201d for homosexuality. Five long years in the hospital left an indelible mark on her soul. Now Ana is finally free, but she is close to suicide, as she can no longer trust people. Everyone she ever loved has turned away from her and betrayed her. And yet, the young woman is waiting for her one and only \u2014 the one who will be able to accept her despite her post-traumatic disorder. Martina, it seems, might be that person. The two are in love and planning a&nbsp;wedding. But Ana is so obsessed with her past that Martina\u2019s patience and devotion are wearing thin. The main meaning of Ana\u2019s life is revenge against those who once hurt her. Relationships and a&nbsp;future with Martina interest her far less. Will Ana be able to overcome the horrors of her past and start a&nbsp;new life with her beloved, or is she doomed to loneliness?<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"block\n  block--core-paragraph\n
