Join us in designing a queer memorial for Prague! The history of queer people in the Czech territory is marked by oppression\u2014but also by resilience, creativity, and the fight for the right to joy.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

What should a memorial to Czech queer stories and history look like? Where should it be located? What and whom should it represent? Come share your thoughts, fill out surveys, help scout potential locations\u2014or design it yourself!<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

The collected data will be used by Martin K\u00e1men, a doctoral student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, as part of his dissertation on the topic of a Queer Memorial.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

You\u2019ll find the exact location on the program map upon arrival at\u00a0Pride\u00a0Village.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Trigger warnings <\/strong>– oppression of queer people in the past, conversion\/reversal therapy, criminalization of homosexuality<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

The Society for Queer Memory brings together those who wish to contribute to preserving queer memory and the life stories of people with non-heterosexual orientations and gender or sex non-conforming identities in the Czech Republic. Its aim is to establish and maintain a museum and archive that collects material artifacts, written documents, and recorded stories\u2014processing them professionally and making them accessible to the public.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

The Society for Queer Memory stands against the forced forgetting of lives lived in secrecy\u2014of those excluded from family traditions and rituals of remembrance.
