The Human Library is an educational project by Amnesty International focused on tackling discrimination, racism, xenophobia, and extremism. But instead of reading books, you \u201cread\u201d people and their life stories.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

How does it work? You choose a person whose story speaks to you. Then, in a small group of 2 to 5 people, you have a 20-minute conversation with them.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

The Human Library creates space for voices that are too often left unheard \u2013 voices of people from minority groups living in Czechia. Come talk to LGBTQIA+ folks, people from various countries and religions, those living with disabilities or neurodivergence, members of the Roma community, or individuals who have experienced homelessness.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Amnesty has been organizing the Human Library for over 10 years. Thousands of people have taken part \u2013 and for many, it\u2019s been a life-changing experience.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

You\u2019ll find the exact location on the program map upon arrival at\u00a0Pride\u00a0Village.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Entrance fee<\/strong> – free<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Accessibility<\/strong> – suitable for teenagers, accessible with a dog, barrier-free<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Vibe check <\/strong>– small event (approx. 30 people), quiet (no loud music, shouting, etc.), requires interacting with the audience or other attendees, seating options, outdoors<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Trigger warnings<\/strong> – depending on the topic of the book but it could be almost anything: sexual abuse, transphobia, sexism, discrimination, racism, xenophobia, depression, poor mental health, suicidal thoughts, self-harm<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n
