LGBTQ+ English conversation with the British Council
Bredovský dvůr, Politických vězňů 13, Praha 1
free entry

All year round, the British Council conversation club is a great place for meeting new friends and, at the same time, practising natural spoken English in a calm and engaging environment.

We are delighted to offer a FREE conversation class for Prague Pride, whatever your level of English, nationality, gender or sexual orientation! Everyone is welcome at this inclusive event. Our experienced and professional English teachers will help you if necessary. However, we hope that this event will be more than just a language lesson: we hope, more than anything else, to provide a safe space for discussing LGBTQ+ issues as well as English practice.

The class will be led by:
Jaime Lilley, English language teacher, teacher trainer

The British Council builds understanding and trust between people in the UK and other countries through arts and culture, education and the English language. We help young people to learn English, gain a high-quality education and an internationally recognised qualification. Our work in the fields of culture and art supports creative activity and intercultural exchange. We have had a presence in the Czech Republic since 1946 and every year, we bring together thousands of students, young people, teachers, politicians, academics and artists in the Czech Republic.

COVID-19: To enter this event, you must abide by the following rules. If you don’t stick to them, we unfortunatelly cannot let you in.

  • Wear a respirator/nano face mask.
  • At the door, produce one of the following:
    • negative antigenic test from an official testing site (home-test and a statutory declaration is not sufficient) max. 72 hours old, or

    • certificate on suffering covid-19 in the last 180 days.

To make Pride safe for you, we follow the government measures and the recommendations from the City Health Station. Thank you for helping us too.
